UPCOMING EVENT
Our Chapter is being offered an exclusive opportunity to get an up-close understanding of law enforcement activities at the southern border.
SABRE is the Southern Arizona Border Regional Enforcement.
Following is a 3-minute video explaining SABRE and the key role it plays in protecting our southern border. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhSqm2YzJ0o
WHEN: Tuesday, March 10, 2026
WHERE: Starts at the Sierra Vista Cochise County Border Operations Center at 665 N. Garden Ave.
WHAT: A tour of SABRE (South Arizona Border Region Enforcement)
- 10 AM an orientation on the programs that the Cochise Sheriff’s Department operates, and an update on the status of the border. Includes a tour of the building.
- NOON: lunch
- 1 PM leave for the border for a presentation at the actual barrier.
- 4 PM Back to the Cochise County Border Operations Center for a wrap up.
WHO: We can have up to 30 members for the tour (Guests for Lifetime Members only, subject to space availability). This would involve driving to the Sierra Vista center or possibly rent a van/bus from Phoenix. From there we would utilize 1-2 vans to get around. The border patrol doesn’t want numerous cars at the actual border. We would need to rent the van(s) in Sierra Vista.
WHO: Detective. Cody Essary will be conducting the event.
BRING: Water, walking shoes, hat, protective clothing from sun, sun block, etc. We’re not hiking but you should wear comfortable gear.
